Have you ever heard the phrase “Golf consumers will buy 50,000 units of anything golf related”?
If there was ever any proof required to validate that statement, it’s the fact that people put up over $230,000 towards a Kickstarter product that is essentially a golf version of bean bag toss.
And to top it all off, the product is patent pending — our patent system has some serious issues. Maybe I’ll file a patent on the “sphere” shape and then sue all sports ball manufacturers for violating my patent unless they all pay me $1 for each ball sold.
Don’t laugh, a company named Forgent did that very thing with a patent for the .jpg file format, and I’m sure that there are many other examples if you Google it.
